NMSU students often qualify for private or external scholarships based on various criteria, including need, academic performance, interests, and background. Below we have organized some private scholarships by their deadline that we believe students would be interested in.  Please keep in mind, these awards are funded by public and private organizations and not NMSU.

Be Cautious When Applying for Outside Scholarships

Always take precaution when applying for any external scholarships by following these simple tips:

  • Never provide personal financial or bank information.
  • Do not pay for information or to receive the scholarship. You should never have to give money to any organization.
  • Use precaution on websites with consistent pop-ups and advertisements.
  • Set up anti-virus software or ad-blocker browsers to ensure online browsing security.
  • Be wary of sites that ask for personal contact information, and not your school credentials. These sites tend to spam you with advertisements.

Financial Aid does review all scholarships before posting, but still encourages students to always be cautious with online scholarship applications.
