Fall 2021 Eligibility

The Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds* were created under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) are now available for students to request using this online form. With direction from the Department of Education, NMSU will begin processing and distributing aid to qualifying 2021 Fall-enrolled undergraduate and graduate students who experienced costs** due to COVID-19. Please be advised funding is limited. Please complete this form, so that NMSU may review your application and process your request as soon as possible. Please allow 7-10 business days for your application to be reviewed.

The following are student eligibility requirements for HEERF III Fall Funds:

  • Students must have been enrolled and attended at least one credit hour for the 2021 Fall semester.
  • Students must carefully read and complete the HEERF III Fall Application.
  • You do not need a completed FAFSA on file and all students are eligible regardless of citizenship or residential status.

Fall 2021 Refund Processing

For qualifying students, please ensure you have a direct deposit set-up, for the immediate release of funds. Direct Deposits may take an additional 7-10 business days to process. Checks are not recommended, as their delivery may be affected by mailing delays. All refunds are processed by the UAR Office.


*This is not considered federal financial aid and does NOT affect any student’s budget or their EFC (expected family contribution). These are not loans, but emergency funds aimed at assisting all enrolled students.
