The Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds II (HEERF II) created under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) are now available for students to request using this online form. With direction from the Department of Education, NMSU will begin processing and distributing aid to qualifying Spring 2021-enrolled undergraduate and graduate students who experienced costs* due to COVID-19. Please be advised funding is limited, and completion of FAFSA and HEERF application does not guarantee aid.
The following are student eligibility requirements for HEERF II Funds:
- Applicants must be Degree-Seeking students
- Students must be enrolled in at least 1 credit hour for Spring 2021 (on or after January 25, 2021).
- Students must have submitted 20-21 FAFSA
- Be an eligible U.S. citizen or non-citizen
Please complete this form, so that NMSU may review your application and process your request as soon as possible. For qualifying students, please ensure you have direct deposit set-up, for the immediate release of funds. Please allow 7-10 business days for your request to be reviewed. Direct Deposits may take an additional 5 business days to process. Checks are not recommended, as they may be held up due to mailing delays. All funds are processed by the UAR Office.
Please note, June 30th will be the last day to file a 20-21 FAFSA.
This is not considered federal financial aid and does NOT affect any student’s budget or their EFC (expected family contribution).
*Costs must have occurred on/after March 13, 2020.
